The Packaging: I was impressed with this set and excited about it when I first saw a picture online. Here are pictures of the box, the instruction manual and those annoying decals...

The Parts: Here are some of the cool parts that are included in this set: The orange curved wedge pieces, the orange airplane roofs, the flying discs (these have great MOC potential) and the flinger, the light brick, cool tank treads and of course the expressive Exo-Force® mini-figs. Make sure to play with the cool mousover feature on the enlarged pic of the figs. Downside to new pieces: The flinger doesn't fling. One disc will fall lamely out of the barrel and two or three more will pop out of the top... The new treads do not turn on this model. I believe this is because the tank is not heavy enough. If you push down on the axles they will turn, but not when you just push it along...

The Build: This is a pretty awesome build. Everything comes together very well and there are some innovative building techniques used. As you can see in the first picture, however, there are also some strange choices, like the configuration of these technic pins and plates instead of simple bricks and plates. This part is mostly covered up later. I do appreciate the attention to detail in the long run. Pictures 2 & 3 show the progression of the build. The fourth picture shows a confusing part in the instruction manual. They don't show it very well, but the 2 x 2 round plate need to rest against the tread in order for the "hub cap" to sit in the right place.
Again we are just followin the progress of the build with pictures 1 & 2 below. The third picture shows the plethora of extra parts that comes with this set. (I have the option to make text bold or italic, but not sarcastic...) The fourth picture is the tank in ready mode. The fifth picture is the tank armed and engaged in battle. Ryo and the tank gunner take on the pictorial review from there... Downside to the Build: There is a suprising lack of extra pieces...As mentioned before, the tank treads do not turn when the tank is pushed along. To get the treads to turn you must apply downward pressure at the axles...There are a couple of confusing steps in the instructions but are overall very detailed and straightforward...
